October 27, 2005 - Personal injury compensation claims set to be simplified
People who have suffered personal injury will soon benefit from a simplified ‘no win, no fee’ compensation claims process, Manchester-based law firm TJ Legal Solicitors announced today.
From November, new legislation will slash the amount of paperwork involved in making a compensation claim for personal injuries caused by road traffic accidents, accidents at work, slips and trips. It equally applies to compensation claims for medical negligence, including cosmetic surgery.
“Currently, around 20 per cent of people who approach solicitors to make a claim, do not proceed because they are put off by the legal documentation provided,” said Tanveer Jaleel, senior partner of TJ Legal Solicitors
“The new law means that solicitors can supply just one page of information to clients, instead of seven. This will be in plain English, ensuring the process is easier and more transparent, and giving clients greater piece of mind.
“Importantly, the move means solicitors will be able to focus on getting the maximum compensation for their clients, instead of dealing with large amounts of red tape.”
TJ Legal Solicitors has successfully represented more than 3,500 clients – with over 80 per cent of them receiving their compensation in less than 12 months and more than £8m being recovered in less than five years.
