road traffic accidents
Getting you on the road to recovery.
At TJL Solicitors, eight out of ten personal injury claims we deal with involve road traffic accidents, or RTAs, so our lawyers understand the pain, stress and inconvenience they cause.
Whether you were the driver or passenger in a vehicle, a pedestrian, cyclist or motorcyclist, they will be on hand to help you claim compensation and get your life back on track as quickly as possible.
If your car needs repairs or is a write off, we can arrange for you to have a replacement vehicle. If you’re a driver who uses your car to earn a living, we even have a fast track system to get you back on the road within 24 hours.
Been involved in a road traffic accident?
If you’ve been involved in a car crash which was not your fault and have suffered a personal injury, it’s essential you report the accident to the police within 24 hours.
If you don’t, you could be prevented from claiming compensation at a later date.
It is also a criminal offence to refuse to disclose your insurance details to any other drivers involved in the accident who request them.
The police will carry out an investigation and prepare a report which may help with your claim.
Other things you should do if you are involved in an accident are:
- Take a note of the other driver’s name, address and insurance details.
- Take a note of the registration numbers of the vehicles involved.
- Take a note of the name and address of anyone who witnessed the accident.
- Take a note of the name and collar number of the police officer who attended the accident scene.
- Keep a record of your losses and keep all receipts.
But, don’t worry if you’ve not done all the above. Simply contact us today and our lawyers will offer you honest and professional advice as to whether you’ll be able to claim.
